Connect Mailjet to RadarSend
Mailjet is an email sending service. Once you connect it, RadarSend hands your emails to Mailjet to deliver, and Mailjet reports back what happened to each one.
Before you begin#
- A Mailjet account (sign up at https://www.mailjet.com).
- An authenticated sender or domain in Mailjet.
- Access to your domain’s DNS settings (to add SPF and DKIM records).
- A RadarSend account with admin access.
Step 1 — Get your Mailjet credentials#
- Sign in to Mailjet.
- Authenticate your domain / sender. Open Senders & Domains, add your domain, and follow Mailjet’s prompts to verify it by adding the SPF and DKIM DNS records to your domain. (In the current app this area is sometimes labeled Account Settings→Domains and Senders; look for the option to add and validate a domain.)
- Get your API keys. Go to Account Settings→REST API→API Key Management and copy both the API Key (the public key) and the Secret Key (the private key). You’ll need both in the next step.
Step 2 — Add the sending service in RadarSend#
- In RadarSend, go to Settings→Sending→Sending services and click + Connect a service.
- In the wizard, on Choose your sending service, pick Mailjet and click Continue.
- On Enter your Mailjet keys, fill in your API Key and Secret Key, then click Connect & verify.
RadarSend saves the service and runs a live connection test against Mailjet. When the keys work, it shows Connected · Mailjet · {your API key}.
Step 3 — Delivery, bounce & complaint tracking#
RadarSend sets this up for you as part of Connect & verify. Once the connection test passes, the wizard shows Setting up event webhooks…, then Event webhooks configured. It adds Mailjet event callbacks for Sent, Bounce, Blocked, and Spam, all pointing at your RadarSend account. Mailjet’s API key pair has full access to your account, so no extra permission is needed.
To check it later, open the service at Settings → Sending → Sending services → your service. The Webhook delivery section shows Configured with the Bounce, Spam Complaint, and Delivery triggers. Click Re-check to run the check again. Configure webhooks (or Re-configure webhooks) only appears when something needs fixing; fix the cause, then click it to retry.
Step 4 — Confirm your sending address#
- Go to Settings→Sending→Senders and click + Add sender.
- Enter your Sending address (on your authenticated Mailjet domain), click Continue, add a Display name and Reply-to, pick your email types, and click Continue.
- On Tracking & confirm, choose this service under Sending service (only if you have more than one), enter a test recipient, and click Send test.
- When the test is accepted, click Save sender.
If Mailjet rejects the test, RadarSend shows Mailjet didn’t accept this address with Mailjet’s reason and, when your key can read it, what Mailjet currently says about the domain (for example Pending) or that the domain isn’t on the account yet. Verify the domain in Mailjet using the Open Senders & Domains in Mailjet link, then retry. RadarSend doesn’t add domains to your Mailjet account; that’s always done in Mailjet.
Tip: Open the service to see the Verified sending domains section, which lists the senders and domains on your Mailjet account and their status. It loads when you open the page; Re-check refreshes it.
Common issues#
- Only entered the API Key. Mailjet needs both keys — the public API Key and the private Secret Key. Sending fails if either is missing or mistyped.
- Sender or domain not authenticated. Mailjet won’t send from a domain that hasn’t passed SPF/DKIM verification. Finish authentication in Senders & Domains and re-run the test.
- Webhook setup fails for some events. RadarSend adds its own callback for Sent, Bounce, Blocked, and Spam and never overwrites a callback another tool set up. If Mailjet refuses one because that event already sends somewhere else, the wizard says Connected, but event webhooks aren’t set up and names the event. Remove or change the other callback in Account Settings→Event Notifications, then click Configure webhooks.
- Multiple free accounts. Mailjet doesn’t allow one customer to run several free accounts. If sign-up or sending is blocked, consolidate into a single account.
- Looking in the wrong menu. The keys live under Account Settings→REST API→API Key Management, not under your profile or a billing page. Don’t confuse the Secret Key with your login password.
Good to know#
- Mailjet uses two keys — a public API Key and a private Secret Key — and RadarSend needs both together as your credentials.
