Connect Claude and other AI apps
RadarSend has an MCP server, so an AI app like Claude can work with your account directly. MCP (Model Context Protocol, the standard way AI apps connect to other tools) lets you ask for things in plain language. For example, “Draft next week’s newsletter from our standard template and send it to the Active customers segment”, or “Which broadcasts are still drafts?”.
The app can read your templates, broadcasts, segments and email types, render previews, and create draft broadcasts. It can’t send, schedule or delete anything. A draft waits in Broadcasts until someone on your team reviews it and sends it.
Before you begin#
- You need to be an admin of each workspace you connect. See Team, 2FA and billing for roles.
- An AI app that supports remote MCP servers with sign-in (OAuth). Claude (on the web, desktop and Claude Code) does. Other apps may too.
The server address for every app is:
https://mcp.radarsend.com/mcp
Connect Claude#
On claude.ai or Claude Desktop:
- In Claude, open Settings→Connectors and add a custom connector.
- Name it
RadarSendand pastehttps://mcp.radarsend.com/mcpas the URL. - Click Connect. A RadarSend window opens. Sign in if you’re asked to, then approve the connection (see Approve access below).
In Claude Code, run:
claude mcp add --transport http radarsend https://mcp.radarsend.com/mcp
Then run /mcp inside Claude Code, pick radarsend, and sign in to RadarSend in the browser window that opens.
Other apps: add a remote MCP server with the address above, using the app’s HTTP (or “Streamable HTTP”) option. There’s no API key to paste. The app sends you to RadarSend to sign in.
Approve access#
After you sign in, RadarSend shows a Connect page for the app, with a checkbox for each workspace you belong to and the permissions the app will have in it.
- Tick each workspace the app should be able to use. You can pick up to 20. A workspace where you aren’t an admin is greyed out, with Only an admin of this account can connect it. underneath.
- Click Allow access.
The app sees only the workspaces you ticked. If you connected more than one, tell it which one to use.
In each workspace you tick, the app can read templates, broadcasts, segments, email types and senders, and create draft broadcasts.
What you can ask it to do#
| The app can | For example |
|---|---|
| List your workspaces | ”Which RadarSend accounts can you see?” |
| Find templates and content blocks | ”What templates do we have for the newsletter?” |
| Look up broadcasts | ”Show me the broadcasts we sent in August, with their subjects and segments.” |
| List segments and their size | ”How many people are in Active customers?” |
| List email types | ”Which email type should a product update use?” |
| Preview an email | ”Render the welcome template with this headline and show me the text version.” |
| Compare versions side by side | ”Show me three subject line options rendered in the template.” |
| Create a draft broadcast | ”Create a draft for Thursday’s update using the newsletter template, to the Active customers segment, with an A/B test on the subject.” |
A draft the app creates shows up in Broadcasts like any other draft. Open it to check the content, the audience and the sender, then schedule or send it yourself.
The app can’t send a test email, schedule, send, or delete anything. Those stay in RadarSend, with you.
See and remove connected apps#
Go to Settings→Developer→Connections. Each app connected to this workspace is listed with who authorized it, its permissions, when it connected and when it was last active.
To remove one, click Disconnect on its row, or open it and click Disconnect. Access ends immediately, and the app’s next request fails. To use it again, connect it again from the app.
Admins see and can disconnect every app connected to the workspace. Other team members see only the apps they connected themselves.
Common issues#
- A workspace is greyed out on the Connect page. You aren’t an admin there. Ask an admin of that workspace to connect it, or to make you an admin. If you aren’t an admin of any of your workspaces, Allow access stays off.
- “You need to be an admin of … to connect it.” Your role changed while the Connect page was open. Go back, untick that workspace, and click Allow access again.
- The app says access was revoked (
ACCOUNT_ACCESS_REVOKED). Someone disconnected the app in Settings→Developer→Connections, or you’re no longer a member or admin of that workspace. Connect it again. - The app says it’s been rate limited. An app can make up to 120 requests a minute. Wait a moment and ask again.
- The app asks you to sign in again. A connection that isn’t used for 30 days expires. Reconnect from the app.
Good to know#
- The app can’t see open and click results yet. Check those on the broadcast in RadarSend, or in Insights.
- Each app connection is separate. Connecting Claude Code doesn’t affect a connection you made on claude.ai, and connecting the same app again replaces its earlier connection.
- If someone is removed from a workspace or loses admin rights, the apps they connected lose access to that workspace within about an hour.
- The app doesn’t see an API key. RadarSend creates a separate key for each connection and removes it when you disconnect.
- To build your own integration instead, use the RadarSend API with an API key.
